Topic: The Future of Physical Security/Convergence/ Diversifying into Information Security - Why / Progression
Speaker Bio:
Carlos Goveo, CPP is a retired Army Aviation Officer. He served for over 21 years and had the opportunity to work at different levels from small units to regional commands. Goveo worked at several US embassies around the world with duties comprising of contract management, auditing security programs, safety, physical security, personal security, travel security, managing classified information, information security, anti-terrorism, and risk management. Additionally, he served at the highest levels of government diplomacy in several countries such as Colombia, Haiti, Qatar, and Peru. He also served in leadership positions during two successful combat tours in Iraq in 2003 and 2005. Carlos is a member of the ASIS Physical Security Council / Vice Chair Certification Committee and a member of the Executive Protection Council.
Currently a Regional Security Manager, Carlos Implements strategic and operational security programs, policies, and procedures for a multi-site regional level environment. In addition to ASIS, Carlos is also a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) and a Certified Threat Manager, (CTM). Additionally , he is a Certified Project Management Professional, (PMP) a Certified Information Security Manager, (CISM) and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional, (CISSP). He has a Master's degree in Administration from Central Michigan University and is a FEMA Level I Professional Continuity Practitioner.
