The George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center (https://www.carveraz.org/) is a historical preservation site that is dedicated to the Collection, Documentation, Preservation, Study, and Dissemination of the History and Culture of Africans and Americans of African Descent in Arizona.

As some of you know, the museum was vandalized last September (see here) so the ASIS International Phoenix Chapter is assisting with the following tasks:

• AXIS Communications has donated cameras for the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center. Dave Calhoun with Enterprise Security Inc (ESI) and some of our technicians will be volunteering to install them. However, we could use other qualified technicians from other companies to assist.  Additionally, ESI is getting several other Security Equipment Distributors to donate the cable and possibly some wireless equipment including GraybaR  and Premise-one; Apache Equipment Rental is donating a Lift Rental for the project.

• This is the portion that will need the involvement of ASIS Phoenix Chapter Volunteers.  This type of work can be done by less skilled volunteers.  The main focus will be the painting of the Main Hallway. There are also various projects such as moving items, cleaning an area and disposing of items.

The George Washington Carver Museum is located at 415 E Grant St, Phoenix, AZ 85004.

Afterwards volunteers will be treated to a lunch served at the Center.

Family, friends and co-workers of chapter members are welcome to participate.

Through the efforts of our former Community Outreach Committee Chairman Steve Norris, and our volunteers, we have won the ASIS International Community Service Award the last five consecutive years!
