David Ellis is the Director of Security for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Chase Field where he is responsible for the planning and execution of long-term strategic safety and security initiatives with the goal of reducing risk and enhancing the resiliency of the organization.  Under his leadership, the Security Department is responsible for incident and crisis and risk management, the development and execution of event specific security plans, executive/player security, internal investigations, training and exercise development and delivery and serve as the primary liaison to local, state, and federal public safety, law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

Outside of his role with the Diamondbacks, David has had the unique opportunity to support major special events including four Super Bowls, the Major League Baseball All-Star Game and World Series, the NCAA Bowl Championship Series, and numerous concerts and festivals.

Prior to joining the Diamondbacks, David was the Assistant Director for Event Security at Boise State University where he was responsible for managing the campus wide event security program which hosted over 900 events each year, including sporting events, concerts, lectures, workshops, testing, and other social events.

David was also privileged to be the first Director of Security for Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, the 140-acre Spring Training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies.

David is an active member of the Event Safety Alliance’s Event Security Task Group and the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security, who awarded him the Industry Leader Under 40 Award in 2016.  He chairs the Phoenix Area Security and Stadium Operations Working Group and is a founding member of the Cactus League Spring Training Operations Committee.  He is a Certified Flight Instructor and Commercial Pilot having attended the Airline Transport Pilots Academy.
